Default Xunlai Agent - Storage, Storage, Storage.

Hello Everyone,

Well, I know this has been posted on previously. However, I was not impressed with any of the posts I spent time reading on the related topic of "Storage-Space" and how it lacks in size. Therefore I am creating my own topic and hope that the relavancey is realized and the topic stays within the title subject.

It is time Anet faces facts of the community and realizes the potential behind creating more storage space. We all suffer with a terribley low ammount of storage space that needs a serious upgrade. This speaks for those who dont have 6+ charecter slots only used for PVP. I dont expect them to respond in anyway positive on this topic because they dont need space.

Let's face the facts here. When you start the game as a new pve charecter one of the first delemna's you face is inventory space. Your small pack quickly fills up with these crafting items and weapons dropped by monsters. Right from the beginning my first thought was, "not-another" storage struggle game please!

But it is a storage struggle constantly. Maybe not with just one charecter but four charecter slots and a +2 with the addition of a merged account becomes a huge delemna.

On almost all of the topics on the subject made I saw replys from people saying things like; "what are you retarded? why keep all that crap?" "you dont need more than 250 a stack" "just sell the stuff as you get it". Come on, honestly those dont hold any light of relevancy to me at all. If Anet expects us to rid ourselves of 99% of all the drops then they should just prevent monsters from dropping anything at all and designate only certain areas where monsters drop crafting materials, weapons and rare materials and really you end up having to sell majority of things you obtain because you dont have anymore space to salvage or keep.

With the addition to the Factions account upgrade for materials you can say this probably only gave you 1 extra inventory or storage square because they only hold 250 per stack. Which is totally rediculous because high end armor takes more than 250 of materials to make.

The funniest thing to me about space is that our Xunlai agent holds less space than our inventory. A backpack, beltpouch, 2 bags with rune of holdings holds 45 slots. Our bank storage only holds 20 slots.

The thing that people fail to realise about crafting materials is that alot of times like myself people collect these materials not only for themselves. If your a part of a guild or a guild leader/officer such as myself. Having these materials available for the new starters or individuals needing a few 20-50 of a material are easily accessed. Not to mention collector items for trade. Like desert collectors for those who can not afford to purchase higher end armor. And again, Higher end armor takes more than 250 of materials to make.

Having an extra tab for a stack of a material is a nice upgrade. But these slots should hold up to 1000 of any material item. 250 doesnt buy much of anything in the real guildwars world. And why would increasing this be such a problem? It would only help to premote more buying/selling for the community. More space and larger amounts would mean easier access to obtaining those higher end armors. This is something that would actually help the economy.

The other huge delemna I think everyone faces is dye and keys. What, are you supposed to buy keys in every town you go into to open chests? Then why do monsters drop them? Another bank tab for keys and dyes would be a superb resolution. I honestly dont know of anyone on game that doesnt become a dye collector and also keep keys on hand. Keys take up the majority of space, and thats high end keys but it would be nice to have more than the ones I keep- (luxon, kurzikc, phantom, obsidean, deep, stone-root, forbidden, miners, shiverpeak.) Thats 10 inventory/storage slots and dye takes up 8 slots, one for each color. Thats 18 slots which is almost an entire Xunlai agent. Put a superior ID and superior salvage in there and you have no more bank space.

Ok, I know I have been going on trying to make a solid point about why we need more space so here is a breakdown of what I believe would benefit the community in large scale.

Inventory:

Backpack- Holds 20 slots
Beltpouch- 5 slots
Bags- 5 slots without rune of holding applied - 10 slots with rune of holding.

In my oppinion the beltpouch is just an annoyance. The only place I find it of use is for head peices for masks, scare patterns, guantlets etc for a specific charecter build concerning attributes.

The bags are good but rune of holding is weak! Rune of holding should either add more than 5 or be allowed to be applied several times to increase the size to 20.

20 slots per inventory selection period. I am sick and tired of being in a mission and filling up before its completed.

Storage:

Xunlai takes 50 gold to open a storage account for your charecter. She then holds 20 slots for that charecter and any other charecter on that account. If you have Factions you may purchase a materials tab for an additional 50 gold which allows you to store common and rare crafting materials in stacks of 250.

It is odvious that 20 spaces for 4-6+ charecters just isnt enough. Storage should be larger than a full inventory upgrade. Inventory is more than double the space your Xunlai agent holds.

In real life terms if you went to the bank and tried depositing money and they said sorry, we just dont have the space youll need to use your piggie bank at home, you think banks would even be in business?

Whats the use with Storage if it barely stores anything?

The bottom line to all of this is there is no excuse large enough to explain why we dont have more storage space. Or why we cant upgrade or purchase more space. Im sure 98% of the community would pay large sums of gold just to have more space in storage.

A few suggestions to accomodate the community are:

Increase Xunlai Agents to allow by purchase of X amount of gold for a larger storage space that holds up to 100 slots.

Add a guildhall upgrade for storage. Xunlai's brother Xunpai or something maybe. This would be the same cost as a rare material trader addition to a guildhall like 100k that would allow guild members to access this extra storage bank with up to 100 slots. This would also premote more people being in established, organized guilds.

Materials Tab - upgrade this to hold more than 250 per stack of material. People sell stacks of 250 materials all day long. And most have 2k+ of any material. As stated above it takes more than 250 materials just to make high end armore which everyone wishes to have. So this space should allow atleast stacks of 1,000 per material.

Keys Tab - Keys take up entirely too much space and nobody wants to keep having to buy keys just for a certain area. We keep these on hand in bank so multiple charecters have access to them. A keys tab would be a hugely appreciated upgrade.

Dye Tab - Your not setting yourself apart or making your own statement if your not dying your armor. Everybody becomes dye collectors sooner or later. This is another upgrade that everyone I think would enjoy. This could also possibley be added to the existing Materials Tab area. I really enjoy stacking these for a rainy day when a guildie needs or you need a little extra $$.

Scrolls and Runes Tab - We all get scrolls and runes from salvaged armor peices monsters drop. The accassional rare gold scrolls and superior runes. You may get runes that you dont have a charecter class for "yet" and wish to keep those runes for a later date or a friend/guildie that may need. This would help to increase the amount of buying selling of runes/scrolls as well.

I Just cant seem to figure out what Anet is waiting for. Are they waiting for a number of people to get so fed up they quit playing and turn to games like WOW which dont have such inventory and storage space struggles? One thing is certain, increasing storage space is not going to hurt the community. If anything it will premote further sales and increase the economy.

I have premoted this game to many friends who all love it. But they all say the same thing; "The game Rocks, but storage space SUCKS".

So if you agree with this please feel free to post concerns. My hope is that enough people agree positively to have this post recognized and the Developers to atleast get storage space upgrades on the table for all campeigns. Not just to newer campeigns.

If you do agree to this please respond with a headline of:

----------ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS MORE STORAGE SPACE------------
--------------------AND CANDY CANES OFCOURSE--------------------------

Thanks for reading,

Tear

Wow, not one single person on this forum agrees to post for this? Please see another related thread here but Wrynns post was cluttered with other pvp additions of which mostly in part his responses drew attention from.

One topic should stick to on subject not multiples because that doesnt stick to the point of the inital post.

See Wrynns post: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10012639

I bet no one's posted on it because it's been beaten into the ground. ANet knows that we want more storage. Whether they do it or not is up to them.

'Nuff said, for me anyway.

I've made my comments on these issues in other threads... your points are good, but i'm just not about to re-state my thoughts on the matter, when i've already done so, and a-net has probably already read them.

Don't worry, this thread has only been allive for 2 hours-ish. No reason to worry that people aren't posting......yet...

And yes I 100% agree with you about the material storage being bigger, us having dye storage, and us having key storage. One other thing I think we need though is scroll storage. Yes, its only 3 slots of inventory, but there must be people that save those two. And think about it. Only taking up 3 slots! That can't be too much of a hastle to put in.

Great thanks for the posts. I have added a new suggestion for scrolls/runes tab.

I know there have been numerous posts on this topic previously and I am sure many have voiced their oppinions. I sent guildwars a suggestion email and they responded that I should go post this suggestion on a fansite forum that the developers view.

Odviously, they want the better part of the "active" community to give feedback on a topic such as this before they make a change to anything. The more people that post and agree, the more odds we have in our favor that they will make an update with the addition to the upcoming release of Nightfall.

To be honest, I have no idea what I am going to do with the space I have now when they add Nightfall. It will be another 2 charecter slots addition to an already over loaded storage space with more materials/items to come.

well I'm sure they'll cater to extra storage space, but it'll most likely come in package form with buying a new chapter.
